A long way to go

The suburban railway track
greets vineyards on both of its sides,
distant milestones have same words graved on their chest
that read “A Long way to go” ; in contemporary bold.
Counting shadows that run past the moving train,
less gruesome thoughts evoked the bag full of pessimistic emotions and few shaken beliefs and flung it open at once;
“God dammit!!
Not again!”
Panicking eyes,
paranoid face,
trembling fingers,
Whom shall I console first?
The train blows a whistle.
Again, a milestone reads aloud “A Long way to go”.
Blood vessels felt relieved for a moment.
Brain too paused the usual activity of loosely packed insincere words that talk about
darkness
and dullness both.
Let it go!” , urged my own unfamiliar voice.
A complete silence wrapped my brain into dustless sheet of power, belief and optimism.
Let it go!
There is a long way to go,
a really beautiful way to go ahead”.
Green valley on my left adored the smile on my face,
that faded a long ago and trapped itself in a still alive past,
now duly returns.
The train blows a whistle.
And the milestone reads “A Long way to go“.

Host Linda G.Hill says,"the Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “way to go.” Use it as a phrase or use it in its literal sense."

“Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know “why” I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the roads weren’t paved.” ~ Will Rogers

Thank-you. Have a good time ahead!
